In his message of August 1st, Randy Haskin excerpted some information from DoD Directive 5210.56 regarding the use of lethal force by DoD personnel and contractors, recommending that someone obtain a copy via FOIA. Our copy arrived today via the Internet from the fine folks with the office of the Secretary of Defense. The full text is available at: http://www.groomlake.com/area51/foia/dod_5210.56.htm We also spoke with "Angela" (presumed to be Angela Ashton-Kelly) with the Air Force in Washington today. She called wanting more information on our request for motor vehicle purchase and maintenance records for [cammo dude vehicle] license plate 93B3561. She stated that she could not find any records by license plate number, and suggested I contact the facility closest to where the vehicle was observed. She also stated that she was unable to determine whether the vehicle was even assigned to the Air Force. We'll post the text of her written response as soon as we receive it. It's interesting to note that the GSA knows that it isn't one of their vehicles and that the license plate had to have been issued by a branch of the military for on-base use only. It's even more interesting that the Air Force claims to not know if it is one of their vehicles or not, based on the license plate. Ms. Ashton-Kelly even went to far as to suggest we contact the local law enforcement agency in the area where the vehicle was observed in order to have them run the plate for information. Anyone feel like calling the Lincoln County Sheriff? Glenn? <g!> Damien Thorn
