Glenn, how funny you should mention these things! I myself have seen
them here in Florida. Our proximity to Eglin AFB, leads me to believe
they were cast offs from military radar testing. My thoughts on these

In the months since I put this page online, I have spoken with a former
co-worker who used to install security systems for nuclear power plants
(including processing facilities). He flatly stated that the spheres are
indeed a radar target and have an RCS equivilant to that of an average
human in the X-band. He used to use them to test microwave intrusion
systems by placing them on wooden carts (complete with wooden wheels)
and pulling them through the sensor field with a rope! Just thought I'd
add my 2 bits......
