Date: Mon, 07 Jul 1997 21:24:43 -0500 From: cmkw@dwave.net To: campbell@ufomind.com Subject: What did we see on July 2, 1997? A friend and I drove from Las Vegas to Area 51 on July 2, 1997. We arrived at Rachel about 9:15 p.m. From 9:15 to 10:00 p.m., seven different times we saw things in the sky that had orange globes of light on them. These objects slowly materialized with the orange globes glowing on and off and then they slowly seemed to dissolve. We saw from one to four orange globes on these things. I thought it depended on from what angle we were viewing them as to how many lights were visible (if looking from the front you would see more lights, if looking from the side you maybe would only see one). As we were parked very close to Rachel and could see the town lights, surely you who live there must have seen these things, too, and have seen them in the past? What are they? No two sightings were in the same spot. I personally have seen two UFO's in the past 24 years, and these were different. I very anxiously await your reply! ==================================================================== These sound like one of two different flares used on the Nellis AF Range: ground-launched illumination flares lasting several minutes, or flares dropped from planes to distract heat-seeking missiles lasting 5-10 seconds. -- GC
