Hello,
Your page seems, in general, to be one of the more thoughtful
and most thought-provoking of the all the UFOlogy-related pages
on the web. Your links and constant updates are very
comprehensive and user friendly.
I have two motives to writing this comment to you: I want to
ask a couple of simple questions. A.) What is the motivation for
this page, and B.) was there some sort of bad blood or falling-
out between yourself(selves?) and Bob Lazar?
I have personally known Bob for about six months now, and
our relationship is in no way related to anything "secret" or
anything having to do with the "unknown." In a nutshell, we're
friends because of our common interest in pyrotechnical
engineering (read: making and shooting fireworks). I don't claim
to be an expert on Bob, nor will I say anything decisive about
his outlandish claims about his work for the government.
I will, however, point out to you that Bob is among the most
friendly and intelligent people I've ever met. In all of his
dealings with me, he has been consistently honest, a real
stand-up guy. Almost as a way of satisfying my own curiosity
about the man, I've had some really deep discussions with him
about military technology that is currently non-classified. His
understanding and knowledge of even the smallest working details
of certain weapons systems left me with a gut feeling that he
indeed does have a large amount of secret info stored in his
head. I purposefully asked him about certain aspects of using
and testing certain weapons (some "unknown to the public" stuff
included), and his answers tended to be more knowledgable than
those of certain members of my family who had worked on such
projects! So, he knows his mili-techno stuff... does that prove
anything about the "secret" stuff he has discussed? Of course
not, but it was enough to make me buy at least the basics of
his life's story.
Some people like to point out his "faked" school credentials
and such. Normally I would consider the conslusions these people
have drawn to be very useful -- but in Bob's case, I feel they
are missing something very important. They all overlook the fact
that Bob has an enormously high-education-esque grasp of physics,
chemistry and the natural sciences in general. He's no goofball
selling "ooze" or talking about wild theoretical nonsense about
the government. Is this not the same government that invented
atomic bombs (incl. many of each type of uranium, plutomium
and hydrogen devices), broke the sound barrier, traded away
Eastern Europe to the Russians and bombed the hell out of a
hundred places where "we never sent any forces" -- all in total
secrecy?
As for Bob himself, I think he's a cool individual. Certainly
a "yes" for the old callback-list. I personally think he gets
a very bum rap for nonsensical reasons - all of which overlook
the gravity of his message. Using your repeated references to
his pandering conviction as an example, I think you (the editor)
have done him an injustice by stopping short of reporting the
whole story. If you would look a little deeper into the case,
you would realize the absurdity of the charge as well as the
conviction. My case in point: see how many OTHER "pandering"
convictions there have been in Vegas, which lies just miles
away from prostitution-OK areas. His conviction was a cruel
joke... at the most, it was a wild run-in with the law of
averages (so many going free for every one person nabbed).
Anyway, I've taken too much of your time... I wish you good
luck with the site and all, and I hope you can find better
ways of "truthfully" presenting the Lazar story and profile.
All My Best,
-Dan

Being the anti-confrontationist that I am, I have some
reservations about having that message posted... but
if you agree to post the whole thing, in addition to
a note about my not wanting to get involved in any
arguments (and, God willing, any flaming!), I don't
see any reason not to post it. I stand by my opinions,
inconclusive though they may be.
