Date: Mon, 30 Jun 97 10:00:14 -0500 From: "Dave Goodson"<dave_goodson@mail.crc.com> To: <campbell@ufomind.com (Glenn Campbell Las Vegas)> Subject: Re: AREA 51: Comments on AF Roswell Report [3 msgs] The Orlando Sentinel newspaper (Orlando, FL) had a page 1 feature Article on Sunday June 29 concerning USAF Col Joe Kittenger (Ret), who now lives in the Orlando area. The article/interview suggests that Kittenger was intimately involved the the "dropping of dummies" from high altitude balloons, and that many stories of lore about Roswell/aliens describe an unknown red haired Col being present at the scene, who was probably Kittenger. I believe the article is available at http://www.orlandosentinel.com
FROM THE MODERATOR The article can be found (at least for the next 2 weeks) at: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/0629alie.htm Summary Growing criticism prompted the Air Force to launch a full-scale investigation, which ended in last week's report, optimistically titled, The Roswell Report; Case Closed. Still, McAndrew and Kittinger believe the witnesses are simply confusing 40- to 50-year-old events, and they note that no one claimed to have seen or heard of alien bodies until the 1970s. An ''alien'' with a large head seen walking on the base after the crash was actually a pilot whose head was grotesquely swollen after a parachuting injury, they said. ''People want to believe that there are UFOs, people want to believe that there are aliens.
