Mid August 1997, Lake Mohave, NV. My wife, my sister, my brother in Law and myself all law abiding, gainfully employed adults, not prone to exaggeration or fairy tail spinning, witnessed something unexplainable. As we lay in our tent, sunburned with very little clothing we all saw a huge beacon of light that appeared to be on the other side of the lake over the surrounding mountain range. The center was a yellow large beam of light with spider leg-like appendages sprouted on the underside that appeared different pastel shades as it drew closer. As it progressed , very low in the sky, practically skimming the water on the lake directly toward our campsite it became larger by the second, it was silent but ominous. We all were aware of the presence but afraid to vocalize what we were seeing. Finally when our entire camp was illuminated with the light my sister screamed "What the Hell is that?" I was overcome with a morbid curiosity but scared to death and finally said "I'm going to signal it with this flashlight." My wife and sister both protested, thinking that would signify an invitation. But I had to do something, so I grabbed my flashlight and turned it toward the oncoming object. In the twinkling of an eyelash it flashed almost to the point of disappearing it left a tiny trail as it traveled upwards toward the stars at a 45 degree angle. It was gone so fast you actually didn't remember seeing it leave. In retrospect I wish I hadn't felt the urgency to protect or take action, I wish I would have allowed it to come further as I am certain that it was not of this world. After this experience everyone who was a part of our expedition felt an overwhelming sense of uneasiness and foreboding. We left early the following day. If there are any other campers or observers out there please e mail me . I would love to know if anyone else has seen or experienced this in this area.
