A guy named Dave Campbell (any relation, Glenn?) has recently put up a web page entitled "Smith Mesa, Something Weird is Going on There". The page recounts a story in which the author and two buddies were returning from a July 4 hiking trip in Zion Nat. Park, when they stopped to take pictures of themselves at an imitation "wild west" attraction near, er, Virgin, Utah. During the photo session an unidentified object appeared above the mesa where the Hurricane Test Track (a private facility used by the air force and contractors to test ejection seat technology, among other things) is located. They report attempting to follow the object, which was rather slow moving, by car until they were stopped by the base perimeter fence. Two photos of the object (plus an enlargement) are displayed at the web site. Check it out at: http://www.infowest.com/d/dcamp/ G. G. Haines haines@geosrv.com ====================================================================== FROM GLENN Interesting pictures. I drove by Hurricane Mesa (apparently the same as "Smith Mesa") this past weekend while enroute to Zion National Park, and I went to the top of the mesa about a year ago. Very scenic surroundings. I have take the road up the mesa that is mentioned in the report. There are fences and no trespassing signs, but security is non-existent and you could easily walk in if you wanted. The official website for the test facility is http://www.upco-inc.com/hmtt.htm Glenn Campbell (No relation to Dave) campbell@ufomind.com
