"The aliens also have a way of taking control of a hypnosis session. For
example, hypnotherapists are taught ways to mke the recovery of the
memories less traumatic for the experiencer. One such way is to suggest to
the subject that he will be able to watch what happened during the
abduction as if it were a movie being played on a screen. He is told that
he can slow down the action or speed it up or even play it backwards if he
chooses, thereby gaining control over a situation where he, in real life,
had no control at all. However, in one of our ocal cases, the beings,
apparently not happy with the use of this technique, jumped right off the
screen, jolting the subject almost out of his chair. They told him, while
still in trance, that they did not like the technique, because it did not
allow him to feel the fear and anxiety he would feel if he were allowed to

hypnotic state. This is to suggest that the subject imagine a beautiful
place (often a beach) where he or she would feel completely safe. The

But on one occasion, the beings simply showed up on the beach,
demonstrating to the subject that there was no place she could truly be
safe from them! In this case, the woman had recently become tired of
pursuing her search for the truth of her experiences and had been thinking
of ceasing to speak out publicly. They explained to her that if she chose
not to carry out her mission in life of speaking out publicly, she would
not be permitted to remember any more about her abduction experiences."

partying rages outside, Phil Klass goes about the thankless task of
eliminating UFOs from public consciousness. In this issue, he determines
(on the flimsiest circumstantial evidence possible to imagine) that Kenneth
Arnold's 1947 sighting was but a train of meteors.
Also, Kent Jeffrey concludes that there never was a Roswell crash,
France's sacrosanct GEPAN comes in for criticism of sloppy methods in the
Trans-en-Provence case of 1981, and there is even a little room left over
for more sniping at Stanton Friedman. Well...in spite of it all...Phil
Klass is a better ufologist than most, and we wish him well as he undergoes
spinal surgery. $2.50"
