Circular suacer [sic] shaped with dome on top,
brilliant light, flashing, vertical movement, horizontal,
leaving whirlwind and cooling effect. Noise like bees.
Two witnesses moved stones on ground. Rose vertically
out of sight.
Comments:
Thank you, Air Force. What was meant on the Air Force
summary card is: the witnesses observed stones moved
on the ground by the whirlwind. The Air Force did
evaluate both witnesses as reliable in the teletype
message.
The absolutely terrible teletype message format that
the Air Force designed gives little additional information:
the noise was like a "swarm of bee, very loud" and effects
were, "whirlwind and cooling effect beneath path of object--
movement of stones on the ground and sound."
This represent one of about 10 UFO cases where there appears
to be a coolling effect. It is unlikely that the USAF
4602d Air Intelligence Service Squandron (AISS)
investigated this case as there is no further information in
the Blue Book files. However, if they did, the 1954 cases
for the early part of the year are not yet available at the
National Archives. One might hope there is a press
account somewhere.
With the reporting and investigation system the Air Force
had they could not even recognize when they had something
significant or unique!
