Change of leadership at CAUS

This just in on the gossip wire...
Citizens Against UFO Secrecy (CAUS) has been one of the more
respected and low-key UFO groups, specializing in government
UFO coverup. For a decade or more, it has been headed by
Barry Greenwood.
As of this month, though, Greenwood has resigned, and lawyer
Peter Gersten has taken over.
Or more precisely, Gersten has taken over, and Greenwood has
resigned. It turns out that Gersten, as the founder of CAUS,
has always retained the title of "Director" and has recently
reemerged to reclaim his position. This has resulted in
conflicts about the direction CAUS should take.
Gersten could be called a member of the "liberal" wing of
the UFO movement (promoting a connection with CSETI, for
example) while Greenwood is more conservative.
The following is a statement from Jan Aldrich, who has also
disassociated himself from CAUS....

When the association between CAUS, Bassett, Bletchman, and CSETI
appeared on the Internet, Barry Greenwood knew nothing about it.
No one had consulted him. Bletchman was not a supporter of Greenwood
and CAUS. Suddenly, he is the contact telephone person for CAUS.
When the denial was made about CAUS' connection with Bassett, CSETI,
Bletchman, etc., Gersten even went along with it.
Suddenly Gersten puts out that Bassett is associated with CAUS. Barry
felt that it was not worth the fight. Gersten is still on the paperwork
as CAUS director. He is a lawyer. Greenwood has decide that is waste
of time to fight this thing out. Barry will go on to other things.
My opinion, not that anyone asked, but I am good at giving it, for 12-15 [years]
Barry Greenwood was CAUS and CAUS was Greenwood. Larry Fawcett may have
given all the interviews, but Greenwood was seen as CAUS. So now
anything CAUS does will still for years from now be connected with
Greenwood.
A number of people that don't want to be publicly identified with the
UFO field send material to Greenwood. Some now post on the Project
1947 List through John Stepkowski or myself. I don't think these people
will want to be associated with CSETI.
Anyway, Greenwood will now put out "The UFO Historical Review," a
publication he wanted to start about 10 years ago. It will continue
some of the things he now does with CAUS and will discuss the history of
the UFO problem. He will take articles from knowledgeable people.
Gersten intends to put JUST CAUSE on-line.
