Col Wilson is an interesting case. I got interested in his "death," after
trying to find out where to send lowers and a sympathy card. (I am telling
this story in chrono order, although some of the details I have just found
out recently)
During this discussion, we should seperate the CURRENT SKYWATCH
organization from its founder Col Steve Wilson. I say this because from
all appearances and observations, I would have to say that the current
Skywatch organization is being run totally different and better organized.
Likewise Bill Hamilton, Jim Hickman, Pappie Mitchell, and crew all seem
like dedicated truth seekers.
As for the current Skywatch leadership, I think they were/are in the
same boat we are with little or no information about the Col, his death,
or anything else other then what the Col posted on the Internet.
Now a brief recap is in order.
From the Skywatch list in 96/97 we read of Col Wilson traveling, Col
Wilson hiding from govt people because he knew too much and was blowing
the lid off the coverup, Col Wilson claiming he held a MJ-26 security
clearance, and that this allegedly went as high as 35 or 36. We also read
where Col Wilson claimed that he had sent a copy of his military records
(4473) as proof of his claims to Richard Boylan, Bill Hamilton and some
others in the organization. According to Col Wilson, he asked that the
records be kept confidential UNTIL his death then they could be released
to the public. More on the records later. Col Wilson also claimed to have
never been married, and didn't have any living relatives..at least at that
point.
In all these storys and tales, I had an experience. Col Wilson claimed
to have have gone to one of Phil Schneiders last lectures in or around
Denver or Boulder. The Col commented that he found Schneider very
believable, and that Schneider had shown him pages of alleged
documentation which the Col felt was totally real.
Months later the Col was then claiming that "he had worked with Phil
Schneider at area 51/S4 blah blah. I called him on the change in story
but didn't get anywhere.
At one point that Col got copies of Phil Schneider's death records,
police report etc etc and claimed that it conclusively showed he was
murdered. Recently one of the folks said he had a copy of those same
records and Schneider in fact killed himself.
As I recall during the middle of 97 we starting hearing about Steve
Wilson having "cancer" and needing radiation treatment at some vet
hospital in Texas.
Allegedly he was staying (convelesing?) with a person named Carolyn (a
long lost sister or relative or something like that) in some unamed city
in Texas.
The first Skywatch convention as I recall was scheduled in the summer,
then got postponed because of his illness to the fall in Phoenix, where he
was going to stand before people and bare his soul of all the alleged govt
secrets, Majestic, crash retrivials, some kind of classified underground
subshuttle system that connected various bases and key facilities, say
from the alleged underground base at Dulce, to NORAD, then to Denver Intl
airport blah blah.
But, before he could do that in front of a large public audience, we get
word from Carolyn that the Col died (November 20 something as I recall),
BUT the Col had allegedly left a letter with Carolyn that was to go out to
the board of directors AND everybody on the Skywatch list in case of his
death. Some people were in and continue to be in some kind of orgasmic
pant thinking that this letter has new details on the UFO coverup that he
never talked about blah blah. She claimed that she would get it out to
everybody in a week or so and how somebody in the Skywatch organization
would have to pick up the Skywatch computer and the Skywatch mailing list
etc etc. To date nobody in Skywatch has gotten a copy of any kind of last
letter from the Col, nor has Carolyn ever responded to anybody about said
letter or its contents.
By the time the Skywatch folks were notified..several days to a week
after he allegedly died, he had already been cremated, so their was no
funeral or memorial service or any kind. Which personally I found odd for
for the military record he supposedly had.
After his death Richard Boylan has published a long (3 parts as I
recall) summation of details that the Col told him in emails, OR that
Richard has gleaned off of his military records..not sure on the military
records. NOTE on the Cols military records: So far the people whom the
Col *claimed* to have sent copys of his military records to, have
repeatedly said they never got anything remotely close from him. NOR can
any of what the Col told Rich, or what Rich *might have* gleaned off the
military records be verified from any kind of "independant source" outside
the Col or his emails. **If anybody out their has a ACTUAL copy of the
Col's military records many folks would be interested.
The Col claimed that he was a Korean flyer, Korean POW, and also claimed
to have been awarded various medals. None of this has been verified, even
though quite a number of people have checked into it.
I *personally* checked lists of AF active duty officer records (they
were published up until the mid 60s available in older govt depository
librarys) and found no Steve Wilson from mid 40s-1972 that in description
came even close to Col Wilson and his claims. There was one with a birth
year of 1933, but he served as a newly minted officer AFTER the Korean war
and then got out after 6 or 7 years.
Their was a Steve Wilson that was a newly minted 2 LT in the mid 60s, but
his name fell off the list as a Captain in 1973, i.e. when Vietnam was
winding down.
As for the alleged Skywatch computer/mailing list, apparently all the
folks at Skywatch got was a "text file" of email addresses (no computer)
which was the Skywatch mailing list. The text file came by email
apparently from the Colonels email address of Colonel@wic.net, which
supposedly "Carolyn" is using currently according to some folks. (By the
way I sent an email to the Col's old email address to Carolyn, and the
message didn't bounce back, nor did Carolyn respond to my request for
information.
Point being that NOBODY in the new Skywatch apparently ever **personally
met** this alleged Carolyn, OR **seen her face-to-face,** NOR do they know
what city in Texas (or any state) Carolyn lives.
So dead end on finding Carolyn, or where the Col was last living when he
allegedly died. Some folks have openly speculated that Carolyn was in
fact the Col that everybody knew on the Internet, while others think that
Carolyn is another name for the Col.
The Col always had the initials CAF by his name and from a post long ago
he claimed membership in the Confederate Air Force. I emailed the CAF
folks looking for information and the only Steve Wilson (he wasn't a Col
either) they had lived in Dallas or something like that and was alive and
well.
The Col's internet provider is a service that is near or out of the
Grand Junction area called wic.net, or Western Internet Connection.
In Grand Junction we have the following listed in the phone book that
**might** have some connection to the Col. I say might because the only
way to "verify" that one of them is the Col is to physically go to the
address and knock on the door OR see who comes out of the house and see if
he even remotly resembles the alleged photos of the Col circulating around
the Internet. I have not called or checked out that angle yet, suspecting
that if the person was in fact the Col that he would never in fact admit
to it. As to the Col's phone number, everybody thats been asked claims to
have talked to the Col over the Internet via email, or "well I had the
number at one time, but seem to have lost (or can't find) it....." **IF
somebody out their had a phone number of the Col while he was living, you
know, one that you picked up the phone with your hands and dialed the
number and he answered, many people would be interested...even though it
may now be "disconnected."**
So here are *possible names and addresses* (if in fact the Col had a
listed phone number) and phone numbers for your interest:
Wilson, S G
2835 Patterson Rd,
Grand Junction, CO 81506-6066
Phone: (970)242-0792
Wilson, Stephen A
2654 G 3/8 Rd,
Grand Junction, CO 81506-1869
Phone: (970)242-4123
Other clues to Col Steve Wilson and where he might live are pretty much a
dry hole.
In summation, the Cols various claims ranging from his military records,
to UFOs, to Carolyn could be *real* although the evidence at this time
doesn't support that.
This could also be part of some kind of UFO disinformation plot by the
govt through Steve Wilson (ala Bill Moore) who, unlike Moore, has now
conviently disappeared and no trace of him, or his death can be found.
With the amount of alleged insider information that he put out over the
Internet the disinformation scheme could also be plausable.
As I said earlier this year, about this time we see Robert Stack in a
trench coat saying "Perhaps you can solve a mystery....." :)
Cheers,
Robert
