How to Contribute to Ufomind [revised]

Ufomind has no formal organization, so there's nothing to join, and
there are no specific tasks we need people for. However, there is an
important way you can contribute: by adding interesting new links to
the website and reviewing the integrity of old links. Just pick any
index page on our site, make sure the existing links are appropriate
and try to find more information on that topic elsewhere on the web.
We encourage you to build your own website on any specialized area
where you think our website is lacking, and link it to ours. Our site
is like a library card catalog: we still need interesting work to
connect to, and we think that every net citizens needs their own
website to cover their specific interests. There are no lack of
general-interest UFO and paranormal websites, but too few sites focus
on specific cases and sub-topics. We encourage you to become a
specialist in a certain area that interests you.
Anyone can add links to our pages via the "Add a New Link" option at
the bottom of most index pages. To experiment with this system you can
play with our practice page at: www.ufomind.com/org/practice/.
To find new links, search for related terms using a search engine like
www.metacrawler.com or an index like www.yahoo.com. The only basic
requirements for new links is that they be "relevant" and
"interesting". They should each contribute something significant to
the page topic. As you continue to surf, you will find many documents
that should be added to our site. (It can take over your life!)
If you find a broken link, we encourage you to fix it yourself. If the
URL has moved elsewhere, you can change it immediately on our system
via the Change-a-Link option. We also provide options to let you
report bad links to us or request that a link be copied or moved.
We encourage suggestions for new topic and people pages on Ufomind. We
can add them quickly if they make sense to us. However, you should
also be aware that we get 100s of email messages a day, and our queue
of messages often becomes backed up. Please keep your requests simple
and brief, and whenever possible, use the tools we provide to make
changes yourself. (If you ask the webmaster to add or change a link,
it could take weeks, but if you do it yourself, it happens right
away.)
