For whatever this is worth relative to the trickle of speculation about
Green River, Utah...
My wife and I were camped at Fretwater Falls, in Desolation Canyon on
the Green River on Tuesday, Sept 1. Third day into a seven day rafting
trip. Fretwater is located at Mile 59.5, which is 59.5 miles above the
I-70 bridge over Green River, Utah. At approximately 5:15PM, two large
black helicopters came around the bend from downriver and flew directly
over our heads, following the canyon upstream. The canyon walls there
are about 500' high, the two chopppers were about 150' or 200' below the
top of the canyon walls. No numbers on the fuselage, though I thought I
saw a large circle on the bottom of the lead craft. Sighting lasted no
more than 15 - 18 seconds. They were loud and fast, and I haven't a clue
what they could possibly be doing in some a remote area. They definitely
did not appear to be search and rescue (almost nobody ever has to be
rescued out of this canyon, as it is fairly mild whitewater...) Wherever
they originated, they did not return the same way, as we did not see or
hear them again the rest of the trip. I talked with one commercial guide
in another party who had been camped 4-5 miles further upstream, and
they saw the choppers too.

When I read the alleged Rueters story I decided to surf a bit. I found
the Official Us Navy bio on Capt. Lewis. It appears a great deal of the
"story" was a simple cut and past job down to the grammatical errors.
Note the phrase
".. embarked in USS Forrestal (CV 59)". One embarks on ship not in a
ship. That error not withstanding the entire thing is word for word
from the Navy page on him. The address is:

BRUCE WILLIS AT AREA 51?

Bruce Willis once got an invite to go to Mountain Home Air Force Base
in Mt Home Idaho about 2 years ago. He drove there, got to fly around
for 4 hours and even got to fly out to this "crazy secret base" in
Nevada. He thought it was called dreamland as he heard it from the
aviator through the radio. All you have to be is famous I guess to get
an invite like that. By the way, he has a picture of him in the
cockpit while they were on the ground in Nevada, it's on the wall at
his Bar (The Mint in Hailey Idaho).
I used to work for him.
