What follows are my own personal opinions ...just to make that clear.
Although I don't follow links to every ufo website that shows up... I
decided to talke a look at this one just to see what kind of 'facelift' it
had had. My first reaction was, "Yes, another site with pictures of little
aliens..." and I almost left from there. But I ventured on as most people
will do and got to the second page after 'clicking the alien'. Again,
another page with pictures (Gulf Breeze and King Tut???)... Then here is
where I got a bit irritated...
Halfway down the page is a request for support and for donations to the
'charity' that 'owns' the ufonetwork.com site. The "Children's Animated
Television" name sounds very impressive and innocent and made me think
easily of other children's television programs (e.g. Children's Television
Workshop).
Not being familiar with this "CAT" I did a search for it on Altavista and
found the homepage at www.qcfurball.com/cat/ . I have to say that I am
very disturbed to see that this site is clearly promoting Gay/Lesbian
issues and links targeted towards youths. The thought quickly came to my
mind that not only is the ufonetwork website targeting itself towards
'experiencers' of 'other worldly contact'...but it also associating
itself, directly in my opinion, with a site targeted at children, but
clearly concerned with providing links to Gay/Lesbian sites.
Since we all know that the ufo phenomenon is especially intriguing to
children and youths, I have serious questions about a site that is owned
by a 'youth oriented' business with the benign sounding name "Children's
Animated Television" but prominently leads into areas of Gay/Lesbian
issues. It was also not made clear on the Ufonetwork site that in fact the
same person(s) own and operate BOTH sites..
It has always been difficult enough to establish legitimacy and
credibility in ufo related matters without having to risk this kind of
association. I can only imagine the possible outcry from concerned parents
who happen to find that their childrens interest in looking at ufo related
websites may be being used to lead them innocently into a site with
'animated television' in it's name...only to be confronted boldly with Gay
and Lesbian issues.
